Terms of use

Draft for legal review before public launch — version 2026-10-terms-privacy-v1, effective 17 October 2026.

These terms are the rules for everyone who uses TalentSetu: educators looking for work and the schools and institutions hiring them. By creating an account you agree to them and to our privacy notice.

About TalentSetu

TalentSetu is a job portal only for education in India. Schools and other educational institutions post jobs for teachers, principals, coordinators, trainers and school staff, and educators apply to them. Jobs outside education don't belong here.

Who can use it

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Each account belongs to one person. Don't share it or create accounts for someone else.
  • If you register or work for an institution, you must be allowed to hire on its behalf, and the details you give about it must be true.

Your account

  • Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
  • If you think someone else has used your account, change your password from Account → Security, which signs out every other device, and tell us through a support request.

Honest use

  • Give accurate information in your profile, resumes, applications, jobs and institution details.
  • Don't pretend to be another person, school or organisation.
  • Use what you see about other people only for hiring through TalentSetu. Schools may use an applicant's details only to consider them for the job they applied to.
  • Don't copy data from the platform in bulk, use automated tools to scrape it, or send spam.
  • Don't try to get around our security, limits or moderation.

Rules for schools and institutions

Never ask applicants for money. No registration fee, security deposit, training fee, “processing” charge or payment for uniforms or materials, at any stage of applying, interviewing or joining. Jobs that mention fees or deposits are held for review, offers that ask for a payment are blocked, and educators are warned about messages that mention payments. Breaking this rule leads to suspension.

Keep children safe. Before anyone you hire works with children, you must complete police verification and a child-safeguarding (POCSO) declaration for them. When an institution asks to be verified it confirms: “We complete police verification and a child-safeguarding (POCSO) declaration for every person we hire to work with children, and we never ask applicants to pay any fee or deposit.” On TalentSetu, police verification and the safeguarding declaration can't be marked “not applicable” in the joining checks.

  • Post only real jobs in education, with accurate details about the role, salary and location.
  • Verification details (UDISE+ code, affiliation number and documents) must be genuine. Our team checks them before verifying.
  • Give everyone on your team only the access their role needs, and remove people who leave.
  • Treat applicants fairly and with respect, and follow Indian law on fair hiring.

Content that isn't allowed

Don't post or send:

  • Requests for money from applicants, or links to payment or “registration” pages
  • Fake, misleading or non-education jobs
  • Harassment, threats, abuse, hate speech or sexual content
  • Anything that could put a child at risk
  • Discriminatory requirements that Indian law doesn't allow
  • Other people's personal data without their permission, including information about students
  • Malware, phishing links or spam

Moderation and suspension

  • Our team reviews jobs from institutions that aren't verified yet, and any job that mentions fees, deposits or payment details. We can send a job back with a note, or take it down.
  • We can suspend an account or an institution that breaks these terms. A suspended institution's jobs disappear from search, and a suspended account is signed out everywhere. We record the reason, and staff actions are kept in our activity log.
  • If you think we got something wrong, tell us through a support request and we will look at it again.

Reporting a problem

If a job, institution, account or message looks wrong (for example, someone asks for money or behaves inappropriately), use the Report option where it appears, or make a support request. Reports about child safety are handled first.

If a child is in immediate danger call 112; CHILDLINE 1098. Please contact them first. Reporting on TalentSetu doesn't replace calling the authorities.

No guarantee of jobs

  • We help educators and schools find each other, but we don't guarantee that you will get a job, an interview or applicants.
  • Verification means our team checked an institution's registration details. It is a useful signal, not a guarantee. Please make your own checks before you accept an offer or hire someone.
  • Hiring decisions and employment contracts are between the educator and the institution. TalentSetu is not the employer and is not part of that agreement.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from Account → Privacy & data. Your data is erased after a 14-day cooling-off period, during which you can change your mind. If you own an institution that has other team members, transfer ownership first. The privacy notice explains what is erased and what is kept.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we update the version and date at the top and ask you to read and accept the new version the next time you use TalentSetu. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
